Adult stem cells are rare and generally small in number but he can be found in no of tissues including umbilical cord blood. In mice pluripotent stem cells are directly generated from adult fibroblast culture. Many mice don't live long with stem cell organs. Adult stem cell treatment have been successfully used for many years to treat leukemia and related bone/blood cancer through bone marrow transplants. These are used in veterinary medicine to treat tendon and ligament injuries in horses.
